The Radical Reels Film Tour is the adrenaline-fuelled offshoot of the Banff Mountain Film Festival, featuring the most dynamic, high-adrenaline films from the

festival circuit. Each year, the tour brings the best in action sports cinema to audiences across Australia, inspiring viewers with tales of adventure, athleticism, and the human spirit. The 2024 collection includes 7 awe-inspiring films:

HOW DID WE GET HERE (TOUR EDIT) USA, 9 mins
 Professional skiers Emily Childs, Tonje Kvivik and Janelle Yip bonded over their shared love of skiing several years ago after the three met by chance in Revelstoke, British Columbia. They each moved there to pursue the dream of skiing maximum powder while working for minimum wage.

IAN Australia, 9 mins A 72-year-old Australian rock climber defies expectations in this inspiring short film. Discovering his passion at 45, Ian Elliott tackles challenging routes, including a grade 28 climb. The film explores physical prowess and mental fortitude, celebrating the pursuit of passion at any age and challenging societal norms about athletic performance.

CHRONOCEPTION (TOUR EDIT) France, 41 min On the trail of nomadic peoples and the ancient Silk Roads, Thomas Delfino, accompanied by Léa Klaue and Aurélien Lardy, embark on an expedition to reach one of the most remote places on the continent. The Kokshaal-Too range is located in the Tian Shan mountain range, on the border of Kyrgyzstan and China, and harbors unexplored mountains and faces.

LEAVING A TREAD {Best Film Mountain Culture} USA, 5 min Pedalling through the vibrant streets and rugged terrain of Guanajuato, Mexico, rising star Israel Carrillo takes us on a thrilling journey through his hometown in this captivating documentary. As the camera follows Carrillo’s wheels, we’re plunged into the heart of Mexican mountain biking culture, where passion collides with adversity.

EL GAVILÁN USA, 20 min Rising out of the arid Mexican desert lies a 900ft ship’s prow of elegant limestone sporting a 9-pitch 5.13 established in the 90s by Jeff Jackson. A cutting-edge big wall free climb at the time, this route shut down hard men for years. Shrouded in mysticism, the bolts rusted, and the holds collected dust until a couple of young gals from Canada decided to give it a try.

DESERT WINGS USA, 4 min Paramotoring is a niche, largely undocumented, and little-known flying sport. This piece brings it to light in a rightfully epic way. Shot over 6 days, with multiple paramotor pilots, Desert Wings highlights some of the most dramatic desert landscapes in the American Southwest.

CANADA VERTICAL (TOUR EDIT) Canada, 35 min After years of preparation, a team of highly motivated Quebeckers set out on one of the longest wilderness expeditions ever documented. Stage one involves skiing in relentless polar conditions from Ellesmere Island to the Northwest Passage where the challenge was reaching the mainland.
